About AIA

The Association of International Accountants(AIA) is one of five statutorily Recognised Qualifying Bodies
(RQBs) in the United Kingdom for company auditors under the Companies Act 1989. The Association promotes and supports the Advancement of the accountancy profession both in the UK and internationally.


European Union - The AIA is a designated Body under the European Union Directive on the Matual recongnition of Professional Qualifying in respect of the activity of Company Auditors in the 15 member states of the EU..
CYPRUS - The Association's Professional Qualification is recognised for the purpose of audit of public companies. Members of the Association are eligible for membership of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus.

Hong Kong - The Council of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants recognises the AIA as an accountancy body under Section 24(A) of the Professional Accountants Ordinance .

•    Malaysia - By the Government as equivalent to an honours degree of a Malaysian University and for the purpose of registration as an Authorised Tax Agent.

    The Association is also recognised by other professional bodies both in the UK and Overseas.
